Painting & Drawing I students will:
IDENTIFY the Elements & Principles of Art in various compositions
ANALYZE, CRITIQUE, & DISCUSS the works of contemporary and historical artists
PRACTICE a range of foundational painting & drawing techniques
BRAINSTORM & COLLABORATE with classmates to generate unique ideas in response to conceptual project prompts
Use PROBLEM-SOLVING to bring their ideas to fruition
EXPRESS different emotions & moods
DESIGN & CREATE original works of art

I am so excited to be your art teacher this year!
This will be my 9th year at Innovation High school, where I serve as the Expressive Arts Department Chair, as well as a Special Education and Visual Arts teacher. Courses I have taught include Painting & Drawing I & II, Studio Art, Mixed Media, Street Art, & Intro to Photography.
Every year our department puts on two art and music showcases, one at the end of each semester. Although we do not know what this year will bring, I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and creating works of art!

Frieze Art Fair is an international contemporary art fair in London, New York, and Los Angeles. Freize NY is held on Randall's Island. Every year a small group who are interested & excel in art get to go!
