Mentor Responsibilities 2026-2027

• Mentors are responsible for attending Mentor Training on Friday, September 11 at 3:45pm at the Marriott East, Indianapolis in Veterans Hall #3.  

  • If you are unable to make this training, you will need to register for one of the following zoom sessions:  

    • Wednesday, September 16 at 3:30pm central time (4:30pm eastern time)

    • Thursday, September 24 at 3:30pm central time (4:30pm eastern time)

    • Tuesday, September 29 at 3:30pm central time (4:30pm eastern time)

    • If these days/times do not work for you, there is an option on the above form to make other arrangements.

• Mentors are responsible for 7 monthly check-ins through the 2026-2027 school year.  

  • These check ins are due October - April by the first of each month.

  • During these check ins, the Mentor should have the Mentee sign in to the WS1 Canvas account to check their progress.

• Mentors are responsible for 3 Observations of their Mentee in their classroom.

  • These Observations are due November, February and April by the 15th of the month.

• Mentors are responsible for helping their Mentee find 3 experienced teachers to observe in their classroom.  It is encouraged that the first observation be of your teaching.

  • These Observations are due:  October 30, January 29, and March 30.

  • These observations are a great springboard for conversation at your next check in.
