IV Incentro Charity Festival "ONLINE Edition".

English: Welcome to the Charity festival 2020 online edition! The Spanish festival that has been collecting money for the food bank and animal shelter for 3 years in a row. Because of this corona time, the food bank in Santander needs the money more than ever! So that is why our goal is 5000 euros this year!

It will be completely different this year ... The bands will not perform live but from their own home in Spain, Kenya and the Netherlands! And guess what?! Next to the bands that planned to perform on the festival, incentronauts will be performing as well! You will find them on this webpage on the 13th!

Music got you pumped? Then check out the workshops! Learn how to sail, get your towel to simulate an underwater hockey match or let your brains work during the philosophy class. Excited as we are? Take a look below to see the rest.

Let us know if you will join one (or more) of our workshop(s) by signing up here.

Noureddine El Moussati: "In this workshop, I will take you with me through my journey of personal storytelling. We will discuss empathy, asking questions and digging into personal stories. For this we go in depth in both theory of general narrative and strategy of communication."

Nick Tammel: "Always wanted to hear 1 of the incentronaut kids talk about what they do think of, for example, the corona crisis, the environment or just their parents parenting. Today you can! So be prepared because I will provide some strong answers from the incentronaut kids."

Tina Hanemaaijer: "In this Plant Question Time you can ask me anything about (mainly indoor) plants! I have a lot of plants and read a lot about them also. If I don't know something I will take you with me searching for an answer. I love learning about plants and hearing other people becoming enthousiastic about them as well! It's not always easy, I can tell you that to start with ;)"

Rachida Mabrouki & Noureddine el Moussati: "'Give a man a fish...' Rather than fighting just today's battles, how do we solve long term problems and establish a sustainable approach? Our charity event aims to support the food bank in order to feed families in need. But perhaps we could zoom out and use the funds to establish something that could be of help for the long term. Join us in our brainstorm session and think with us on how we could use the funds in a more sustainable manner."

Richard Jan Postema: "This workshop is an introduction to the philosophy of Stoicism, also known as the Buddhism of the West. Rationality in this philosophy is central. Stoicism started in Athens so we will dive into ancient Greece to see if we can sharpen our thinking skills."

Live concert by the band Charger

Siger Steenstra: "Ever wondered what a DJ does? Siger will introduce you to DJ'ing. It's a real starter workshop, so you will be introduced to the equipment (club standard) and some basic techniques, but most important Siger will tell you what it takes to be a DJ. At the end there will be time for questions!"

Ocean Koornstra: "Dreamcatchers! During this workshop we'll be making dreamcatchers together. I'll help you get going, and we aim to use as many materials you can find in your own home and in your own garden as possible :)"

Necessary props:
1) Materials for the frame of your dreamcatcher: for example, sticks from your garden, a wire (iron), pencils or pens, a metal ring, etc. Be creative! Everything that's a bit firm and can be knotted together (like sticks), or is round and hollow already (like an embroidery hoop) will make for a perfect frame!
2. Wire and/or yarn. Maybe you have some old wool lying around, or an old blanket that can be cut up into strings. A thinner wire or yarn is best for the inside of the dreamcatcher, but for underneath it might be prettier to use thicker pieces, for example from an old blanket, pillow case, or ribbons.
3). Further decoration! Maybe you want to put in some beads, pieces from old jewelry, feathers from the garden, dried flowers (or plastic ones), sea shells, etc. This is optional.
4) You'll also need scissors ;)

Jair Martinez: "Underwater hockey is a very complex and strange sport to demo over a video online because the sport is played under the water, but I will do my best give an overview of what the sport is all about that includes the background and it's peculiarities, show a small video of it so people have a better sense in how to play it, showcase the equipment (using my self) while explaining the function of each item, a quick demonstration on the floor on some basic concepts about the sport, and some time for questions."

Optional props: a towel, a tuna can, and a pen or a long object about the size of a pen or a bit longer.

Karaoke by Lou Jonker

Dion Borsboom: "You can help international (coronavirus) research using your computer with Folding@Home. I will explain how and why I donate my idle computers to health research and why this is important even after corona ends. Note that this session contains technical components, but no rocket science is required. Not sure yet if this sounds interesting? Read my article."

Jelle Wester: "Welcome to my cave! I will give a live concert from my home studio. In-between songs I will give a tour of my studio and show what tools are used for home recording."

Jowan Wondergem: "Basic tips will be shared about using and mixing colours for painting. All the equipment for painting in this workshop will not be necessary, since it will be mostly informative, so that later on you can experiment yourself."

Optional props:
Pen/pencil for notes and for the ones that want to paint with me, a paintbrush and some basic pain colors.

Mathieu Elfferich: "I'm going to give a workshop on gardening in your backyard and what to look out for. It will be about: Best location for the particular plants, what stuff you need, When to start, and how you can be prepared before sowing / planting."

Sybren Dantuma: "Introduction into the basics of sailing. How the wind propels a sailboat, how the sails should be trimmed relative to the wind and explanation of different maneuvers."
