Our lineage of scientific symposia commenced in 1999 and has since evolved into a biennial event hosted in Europe. Initially focused on saproxylic beetles, our symposia's thematic horizon has broadened over time. Consequently, we’ve adopted the name to encompass a broader spectrum of saproxylic organisms and saproxylic ecology in general. Although conservation and beetles remain important subjects in many presentations, we now enthusiastically embrace a diverse array of saproxilic species and topics concerning biodiversity, ecology and conservation but excluding pest studies.
