Main Research Topics

Electromagnetic fields propagation in turbulent media. Optical Turbulence (OT) applied to astronomy supported by Adaptive Optics (AO) and free-space optical communications (FSOC). OT modelling: analytical and  atmospherical numerical models.  Operational OT forecast systems. Statistical techniques for OT estimates. Techniques for OT measurements and characterisation. Site testing.  Effects on OT on high-contrast imaging supported by adaptive optics and coronography.

Secondary Research Topics

Extrasolar planets and brown dwarfs. High contrast imaging techniques for extrasolar planets detection. Outflows from young source objects. Origin of jet knot emission from YSO. Mechanism of deceleration of giant outflows. Jets from low-mass stars and brown dwarfs.
