Mrs. Nahmensen - Our New Kindergarten Aide / Librarian:

  • My name is Sally Nahmensen, but you can just call me Miss Sally to make it easier. My family has been in St. Louis my entire life. We are parishioners at Epiphany in South City. My husband and I live in South Saint Louis with our 2 dogs, Wally and Emma. Currently, my daughter is a Freshman at Murray State College in Kentucky and my stepson is in the Air Force due to retire very soon. Somethings I enjoy include spending quality time with friends and family, cooking and cheering on our favorite St Louis sports teams. My favorite foods are Imo's pizza and Taco Bell. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with students of all ages and look forward to being a part of the Immacolata Family. I enjoy reading and want to instill this love of reading in as many students as I can. I cannot wait to get to know everyone!

40 Days of Life is Still Happening:

  • 2020 has been a strange year! Immacolata has participated in 15 consecutive 40 Days for Life prayer days since the fall of 2012. We were interrupted in the Spring of 2020 due to COVID. The good news is, we can come out again this fall to pray, with masks and social distancing guidelines per the Coalition for Life STL. Lawn chairs are welcome on the sidewalk for those unable to walk/stand.

  • What: Peaceful prayer outside the STL Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinic

  • Where: 4251 Forest Park Parkway (corner of Forest Park & Boyle)

  • When: Tuesday, October 13, 2020 anytime between 7am and 7pm

  • Why? To save lives. NO political activity is involved. Only peaceful prayer.

Reminder: It's Flu Vaccine Time!

  • We are strongly encouraging all families to get their flu shots this year.

October Lunch Menu:

Reminder: ATTENTION all possible volunteers, present & future coaches:

CLICK HERE to start the program & follow the directions on THIS PAGE.

  • We have a NEW Prevent & Protect program from the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

  • Regardless of if you have been volunteering/coaching already you MUST visit the website below.

  • We know volunteers aren't allowed in the school at this time but this should still be completed for anyone who thinks they may possibly volunteer or be around the children at any point during this year.

  • ANYONE who is involved with children needs to have this training. It replaces the Safe Environment program as none of that training will transfer over.

  • Each person has to establish a username and password.

  • There are two videos which take about 20 minutes each of the six steps in total to complete the training.

  • Deadline of September 30, 2020

Reminder: COVID-19 Fund:

  • Immacolata Home and School Association is an organization of parent volunteer whose mission is to support the students, faculty and staff of Immacolata School. Home and School usually organizes activities ranging from family social events to donation drives for goods needed by community organization, junior achievement in the students’ classrooms, the annual teacher appreciation lunch and organizing parent volunteers for many activities throughout the school. Despite many of these activities not happening in the current environment, the students, faculty and staff still need our support.

  • The commitment to educating the students at Immacolata is as strong as ever.

Parents started to notice the burden and challenges on the staff & school present in this unique year. The idea of a fundraiser for additional funds to support our school was born.

  • Equipment & supplies needed to make the school as safe as possible have increased expenses on teachers and the school. The current prohibition on parent volunteers in school means teachers and staff are being required to take on yet even more duties (such as lunch duty, recess duty, reading time etc.).

Home and School is asking for your help to show our support this year by making a donation to the 2020 Covid Fund.

  • Your donation to the 2020 Covid Fund can help the Home and School Association support the teachers and staff, enhance safety measure and educational resources in a different environment, and show our appreciation for the teachers and staff. Any amount is appreciated no matter how small or large.

Reminder: High School Admissions:

  • Did you know we've created a new "High School Admissions" page to our website?

  • It will always have the latest information we have the Archdiocese as well as individual highschools.

  • You can find the page on the "Parents/Links" Page / dropdown in menu.

Reminder: Zooming Classes

  • I want to clarify our practices regarding Zoom meetings and absent work. As in years past, if a student is absent due to a non-Covid related illness, vacation, or other non-covid mandated reason, they will be treated as a typical absence in a non pandemic school year. Homeroom teachers will have a fellow student gather your son/daughter’s work throughout the day. The materials canalso be placed in the office cart to be picked up, or, if requested, the work will be sent home with another student and/or a sibling.

  • Please be aware that teachers will only be hosting zooms for students with Covid-related illness and/or quarantine restrictions. These absences should go through the school office as a spreadsheet is maintained to keep staff up-to-date. Although teachers have recurring Zooms, we will not be hosting a meeting unless students are absent due to a Covid related illness or a required quarantine due to exposure. If your child is out and not on the covid spreadsheet but another child in their homeroom is—then the zoom will be open. Your child’s teacher will advise if that is available.

  • Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience as we navigate through these ever-changing events. As always, attendance in school is extremely important. We want to ensure that students that are out on mandated quarantines are able to keep up with their studies, this also needs to remain a manageable option for teaching staff. The staff is dedicated to keeping Immacolata an in-person educational and faith community. To do this, they are wearing many hats and are stretched a bit thin. But with everyone’s patience and cooperation, I know this will be a great year!

Reminder: Symptoms / Testing & Quarantine Protocols

  • We are now into cold/allergy/flu season—along with covid. This will be a more difficult time of year but I know we can do this. I also realize that this puts so much more on our parents and teachers. I appreciate so much how patient everyone is as well as this great teamwork attitude. The following information is available on the webpage, too, but I want to make sure everyone is aware as it is so unusual in comparison to previous years.

  • If a child has one Tier 1 symptom, he/she must remain home until the symptom has begun to subside (SIBLINGS may come / remain at school - this is a change to protocol as of 9/30). A parent may also get a pediatrician release indicating that it is not covid related as well—such as allergies or other ailment

  • If a child has two or more Tier 1 symptoms or any of the Tier 2 symptoms, the child and siblings must remain / come home. The child must see the doctor and either have a covid test or obtain a doctor release indicating no covid test needed as symptoms have other known cause.

  • Any students or siblings of student currently waiting on a covid test may not attend school until receiving a negative test result. This is also true if any household member is awaiting test results.

  • Students will beasked to quarantine if the child or household member is positive or if the child has had close exposure to a positive covid case. Please contact Dr. Stutsman regarding time frame and parameters.

Download 9/30 "Make A Note"

  • Somehow missed this in the Wed. Envelope? While the info is mostly the same as the Knights' News, you can also always download the Make A Note on our "Wed Env" page on our website as well as viewing it by clicking here.

Thank you for all you are doing to help keep Immacolata united as one.
