Thank you everyone, for the great workshop!

 Workshop Objectives:

Demand for food, feed, fiber, and fuel is rising due to an ever-growing world population. We are expected to nearly double the global crop yield by 2050 to meet the projected demands. Crop production using new technologies and AI will play a key role in meeting rising demands. At the same time, this needs to be achieved while improving environmental sustainability by reducing the usage of chemicals like herbicides and fertilizers and other stressed resources such as water or energy. In recent years, we have seen impressive advances in agricultural robotics aiming to address these challenges. Robots are used in challenging outdoor field environments and greenhouses for wide-ranging applications such as phenotyping and monitoring, targeted intervention, harvesting, weeding, cover crop planting, and much more. These exciting applications call for research innovation in robotic fields as well as close collaboration with crop scientists and industries.

This workshop focuses on recent developments in agricultural robotics and automation. The goal is to bring together researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and methodologies for enabling robotic systems in agriculture. The workshop will provide an overview of the state-of-the-art through a series of invited and contributed sessions as well as opportunities for attendees to share their knowledge, develop new ideas, and foresee the field's future. For real-world applications, a focus will be strengthening the relationship between robotic systems and domain-specific knowledge from plant sciences and industry personnel.
