I am currently an Associate Professor of Economics at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Tirupati (IIT T). I am the coordinator for the Master of Public Policy (MPP) and I served as the Head of the Department between 2020-23.

Before joining IIT T, I was at the School of Development Studies at TISS-Mumbai during 2016-17, TISS-Hyderabad during 2015-16 and at the Department of Economics at Providence College, Rhode Island, USA where I served as an Assistant Professor of Economics (tenure track) between 2014-15.

I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC). I’m a development economist by training and my main expertise is in the area of political economy. I am the author/co-author of From Developmentalism to Neoliberalism: A Comparative Analysis of Brazil and India (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019), Reassessing the Pink Tide: Lessons From Brazil and Venezuela (Palgrave Macmillan, 2020) and Decolonizing Development: Liberatory Epistemologies from India and Latin America (Routledge, 2024).
