Dr. Satyam Agarwal

Dr. Satyam Agarwal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Ropar, India. He heads the advance research in Communications laboratory at IIT ropar. He obtained his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from IIT Delhi in 2016, and prior to that, he completed his M.Tech degree in Signal Processing and Communication from IIT Kanpur in 2012. Before joining IIT Ropar, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at IIT Guwahati. Additionally, in 2017, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Politecnico di Torino in Turin, Italy.

Dr. Agarwal's research focuses on wireless communication networks, particularly next-generation networks, B5G/6G networks and architecture, and air-borne UAV networks. He has been recognized for his work and received the DST-INSPIRE faculty award. He has also secured several research grants from organizations such as DST-SERB, ISRO, the Ministry of Earth Sciences, and the Punjab Skill Development Mission. Dr. Agarwal has contributed extensively to his field, having published over 30 research articles. He is an esteemed senior member of the IEEE.

Research interest are in the broad areas of Wireless communications and networks. 

Current Research Focus:

1. Developing systems and protocols for UAS networks 

2. Rural Broadband architecture design and protocol development. 

3. Security in IoT/UAV Networks 

4. Actively pursuing application of AI/ML in Communication Systems
