Hello and welcome to my web page. I obtained my B. Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Poojya Dodappa Appa College of Engineering Gulbarga in 1998 and PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Cincinnati USA in 2005.
Research Interests
Our group works in distributed systems. Currently, we are exploring an array of topics in fog/edge computing: scheduling and resource allocation algorithms, AI/ML on the edge, with a strong focus on real-life applications: health, agriculture, and smart mobility. For more details, please visit my research page.
Teaching
Generally, I teach systems courses. Please visit my teaching page for more details on the courses that I am teaching or have taught.
Service
I am currently serving as an Editor for Wiley's journal Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience (CCPE), and as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Services Computing (IEEE TSC). In 2022, I have served on committees of IEEE CCGriD, IEEE CCNC, IEEE Cloud, IEEE ICCCN, and other conferences, in various roles. For more details, please visit my service page.

Prospective M. Tech., M. S. (Research) & PhD Students
Admission to the graduate program at CSE, IIT Ropar is quite competitive. It is our expectation that a graduate student will produce high quality research and publications in top tier journals and conferences. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the research rather than its quantity or the time duration. Graduate students receive a monthly stipend and have access to hostel, mess and lab facilities. Admission is ONLY though an entrance exam and interview that is usually conducted twice a year - in May and December. Please watch the institute website for further details and application procedure.
