SUMIT KUMAR
Research Scholar
Department of Electrical Engineering
Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur
I'm Sumit, a Ph.D. scholar @Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. I am working under the supervision of Prof. Mahesh Kumar.
In my Doctoral thesis work, I focused on developing high-performance and low-power consumption gas sensor devices. Through my DST fellowship, I aim to develop low-cost sensors for monitoring odors in ambient air. Such low-cost, portable sensors could provide immediate results. They can significantly impact public health outcomes in the petroleum industry, sewer lines, scientific labs, and many other places where these poisonous gases are found. The envisions a network of sensors deployed by the local authority to track the real-time change in gas concentration and identify the source of the problem. My supporting institution Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur, and my supervisor have a wealth of experience in this arena and have many industry and international collaborations. It offers both invaluable contacts and industry-specific knowledge that helps facilitate my investigation.
