ABout ME

I am an interdisciplinary research scholar affiliated with Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Jodhpur. I am working under the supervision of Dr. Mahesh Kumar and Dr. Ankur Gupta.

My thesis work has been completely focused on “Design and Fabrication of GaN HEMT based sensors for heavy metal ion detection”

Through my Prime Minister Research Fellowship (PMRF) independent research project I aim to combine the diversities of both engineering fields to some extent and develop novel AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistors-based transducers and associated low-power electronics to create portable heavy metal ion sensors. Such low cost, portable sensors could provide immediate results and can have a significant impact on public health outcome in certain rural and urban areas where water contamination is an everyday problem. The project also envisions a network of sensors deployed by the local authority to track the real-time change in metal ion concentration and identify the source of the problem. My supporting institution Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur and my supervisors has a wealth of experience in this arena and has many industry and international collaborations. It offers both invaluable contacts and industry-specific knowledge that helps facilitate my investigation.

Further, my previous research internship experiences in Institute of Nanosciences and Technology, Mohali and National Institute of Wind Energy, Chennai has allowed me to develop my research aptitude, problem solving ability, effective presentable and writing skills, making this project feasible from research methodology standpoint.
