About The Program
IIT, Jodhpur is jointly organizing a Vigyan Jyoti program with Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Jodhpur, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Barmer from September 2023 – March 2024, funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India. It is a holistic program The objective of the program is to encourage girl students to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and thus become self-reliant and independent in life. The primary objective of the program is to create gender equality, strengthen the ecosystem, and guide them on how to balance work and life. Since there are great benefits of being prepared early, it would be very beneficial to increase interest in science and technology among girl students in the early education years.
Aims and Objectives
To encourage and motivate female students to pursue higher education and thus, become self-reliant and independent.
Increasing girls' participation in underrepresented STEM fields and ensuring gender equality
To facilitate an operational/enabling environment from school level to college level and from research level to job level.
To ensure easy access to science and technology information and knowledge sharing.
