IIT Jodhpur – A pearl in the desert, The 2nd generation Institute currently functions at its state-of-the art permanent campus built up on a sprawling 852 acre site, around 25 km away from the Jodhpur City. The campus earned 5 star rating by the Green Rating for Integrated Housing Assessment (GRIHA) council for its scrupulous planning, thermally comfortable smart buildings with GRIHA 4/5 star compliant buildings, walking campus, which is pedestrian oriented and bicycle dominant. Learning at IIT Jodhpur has been facilitated everywhere, any time with wireless ICT backbone. The Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Jodhpur is devoted to quality engineering education and pursuits the excellence in research. It is dedicated to preparing students to face the emerging challenges faced by society. The vision of the Department is to translate its research and to innovate in pedagogy to enable ignited young minds to find technological solutions for upcoming challenges. The Department offers B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering within three major domains of Thermofluids, Design, and Smart Manufacturing. The students also have the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary specialization in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of things (IoT), Smart Healthcare, and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). The department has active collaborations with AIIMS Jodhpur, General Electric, Thermax, DRDO, ISRO, TCS Innovation Lab, TVS Motor Company to name a few. The department has been attracting various sponsored projects from R&D organizations since its inception.

About the Conference

The First edition of the International Conference on Recent Advances in Mechanical Engineering (ICRAM 2022) is being organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, India through the virtual mode. The aim of ICRAM 2022 is to bring together innovative scholars and industry experts working in the field of mechanical science and technology in a joint forum. The main purpose of the conference is to promote R&D activities in the fields and to improve the exchange of scientific information among researchers, developers, engineers, students and practitioners working in India. Conferences will be held regularly, providing an ideal platform for the exchange of views and experiences in Conventional Manufacturing, Advanced Manufacturing, Heat Transfer & Thermal Engineering, Fluids Engineering, Materials, Applied Mechanics, Computational Mechanics, Composites, Smart Materials & Structures, Energy Materials, Biomechanics, Dynamics, Vibration & Control, Robotics automation & control, Nonlinear dynamics, Advances in Aerospace & Defense Technology, Micro- & Nano-Systems Engineering, Acoustics & Wave propagation, Mechanics of Solids, Structures & Fluids, Advanced theory & simulations and many more. Paper Submission Guidelines for Authors

1. Type of Submissions

a. Extended Abstract

Authors accepted under this category will by default have their abstract included in the proceedings, although they may elect to submit a full paper for inclusion in the proceedings.


b. Full Paper Submission

The papers accepted under this category will be considered for publication in conference journal special issues. Selected articles will be published in SCOPUS/WOS indexed Journals and/or in an edited book volume having ISBN.


2. Call for Papers

Authors are requested to submit their paper abstract in the given format within notified due date through the easy chair portal.

All the papers will undergo a review process, and accordingly, selection/rejection emails will be sent to respective authors. Selected authors have to submit their full-length articles (maximum eight pages) in the notified format.

3. Guidelines for Abstract and Full-length Article:

a. The article theme should be in line with the conference theme.

b. The abstract must include title, author affiliation with an email address, and 4-5 keywords.

c. Review papers will also be accepted if they present sufficient novelty and discuss the benefits in the field.

d. Papers achieving a similarity score of less than 20% will be examined and those deemed unacceptable may be

rejected/withdrawn without a formal review.

e. After the conference, the authors will be notified about the proposed journal for which their work is accepted,

and then authors have to modify their paper in accordance with the format of that journal.

Top Attraction in Jodhpur

Jodhpur was historically the capital of the Kingdom of Marwar, which is now part of Rajasthan. Mehrangarh fort

Mehrangarh Fort holds the pride of place in Jodhpur because of its splendid architecture and the diverse history associated with it. Considered as one of the most formidable and magnificent forts of Rajasthan, Mehrangarh fort was built by Rao Jodha in the year 1459. The fort is spread over an area of 5 km and is built on 125 m high hill in the outskirts of Jodhpur city. There are seven gates, which can be used to enter the Mehrangarh fort. These 7 gates are made by different rulers, and are built in honor of victory over Bikaner and Jaipur armies.


Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum

Umaid Bhawan Palace is the largest private residence in the world. There are 372 rooms, wood-panelled library, private museum, indoor swimming pool, billiards room, tennis courts and unique marble squash courts. It was made between 1928 and 1943 under the reign of Maharaja Umaid Singh. The Umaid Bhwan Palace was designed by the renowned architecture, Henry Lanchester, and shows a blend of eastern and western architectural influences.


Osian Desert

Osiyan or "Osian" popularly known as the "Gateway to The Thar Desert", is a small town in Rajasthan, India known for its ancient temple ruins and as a base for camel safaris into the dessert. The ancient town was a great trading center between 8th and 12th centuries. Today it is a desert oasis with 16 Brahamanical and Jain temples that are beautifully sculpted and designed, most of which have stood the ravages of time. There is interesting desert countryside to explore.


Ghanta ghar (clock tower)

"Ghanta Ghar" was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh between 1880 and 1911 and is situated in the center of "Sardar Market" square and known as the clock tower of Rajasthan and not just Jodhpur. Once you are done with this, you can check out the vibrant market area for curios, as the entire region is known for selling a wide and fine range of handicrafts, such as Rajasthani sarees and kurtas, bangles, souvenirs, local crafts and much more.
