Developed a 17-lump kinetic model using MATLAB for an Industrial Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) that accounted for catalyst deactivation due to coke deposition and included 199 kinetic parameters.
Used simulation-based optimization to identify optimal operating conditions and catalyst design, improving the efficiency and profitability of the FCC process. • The kinetic model can predict FCCU performance under different operating conditions and optimize the process, making simulation a powerful tool for developing, optimizing, and designing FCCU systems.
Simulation is critical in developing and optimizing FCCU systems, and software such as MATLAB is used for optimizing the FCCU.
Simulation is a powerful tool for designing new FCCU systems, as it allows for the prediction of FCCU performance under different operating conditions and the optimization of the process.
