- This course focuses on parallel programming applied to scientific computing. Students will learn the basics of parallel programming and implementation of numerical algorithms in serial and parallel contexts. Shared memory and distributed memory parallelism will be covered. We will study parallel algorithms for root finding, solution of linear systems, and solution of partial differential equations. Check the tentative class schedule (subject to minor changes) here.
