E-Mobility Eco System: An inclusive Perspective by Prof. Rajeev Kumar Singh, IIT Varanasi (BHU)


Abstract:

 

E-mobility ecosystem has become one of the talked about research areas in the modern days. It has an impact on the business, economy, and environment. The two major segments that are being covered under the e-mobility infrastructure are 1) battery development and testing unit and 2) electronic control unit and software development. The talk will focus on the challenges in adoption of the EVs and the opportunities in the EV Sector. Further, the talk also focuses on various initiatives of GoI and some other national bodies for giving a boost to the EV adoption in the country. Some of the technology developments and initiatives in EV space at IIT(BHU) Varanasi will also be a part of the talk.


Bio-Sketch:


Rajeev Kumar Singh (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Tech. degree in electrical engineering from the College of Technology, Pantnagar, India in 2001, the M.Tech. degree in electrical machines and drives from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, India, in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur, India, in 2013. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University). His research interests include renewable power conversion for hybrid microgrid, power conversion for electric vehicles/hybrid electric vehicles, optimal charging/discharging of energy storage system, and converter modeling and control.
