Policies and Updates

The policies and updates below are designed to inform Illinois Tech faculty and stakeholders of the requirements of accreditors and the federal government.

This page provides updated policies from the Office of Academic Affairs.

Policies listed include:

Disciplinary Accreditation Program Assessment (DAPA)

If a program has disciplinary accreditation, this typically includes a disciplinary accreditation program assessment, or DAPA , process. These reports can be accepted in lieu of any IIT-mandated reports, so long at the disciplinary program assessment meets minimum standards wth regard to HLC program assessment.  For the full text of Illinois Tech's DAPA policy, see here.

Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI)

Courses at Illinois Tech, especially distance learning courses must provide regular and substantive interaction between the lead instructor and students that is predictable, scheduled, and commensurate with class size. This ensures that faculty expertise is used to guide pedagogical development of students.  For the full text of the Illinois Tech RSI policy (and corresponding federal regulations) see here.
