Welcome to the IIT Advanced Engine Control Laboratory (AECL)
The AECL studies the dynamics and control of energy production with a focus on vehicle powertrain systems including engines that leverage alternative fuels and advanced combustion strategies, hybrid technologies and hydrogen fuel cell stacks. Researchers in this lab focus on applying state-of-the-art control methods, including nonlinear, optimal and robust control strategies, to complex energy systems.
Recent News:
Congratulations to King Ankobea-Ansah on being awarded the Yanmar/SAE Scholarship . Yanmar America Corporation is the world's largest manufacturer of non-vehicle-use diesel engines. Given the urgency of limited fuel supplies and environmental concerns over continued use of fossil fuel, Yanmar established this scholarship to help promote their motto: "to conserve energy is to serve mankind.”
IIT was selected to compete in the EcoCAR EV Challenge. Meet our team.
