Solid State and Quantum Materials Laboratory

Our group focus on design and discovery of novel inorganic functional materials based on heavy transition metal oxides, chalcogenides and halides. Single crystals of these materials are grown using solid state methods (vacuum sealed tube, high temperature sintering or by hydrothermal technique) and chacterized using single crystal X-ray diffraction. We are mainly interested in the uncoventional electronic and magnetic ground states like frustrated magnetism, quantum spin liquids, topological materials and unconventional superconductors.
