Globular clusters are a wonderful sight in even the smallest telescopes. They are densely packed collections of ancient stars found in all type of galaxies. By studying them astronomers are deciphering the Milkway’s oldest secrets through direct observation of their formation is still out of our hands.
This talk contains a general introduction to globular clusters including their characteristics; currently accepted theory for their formation; their uses in studying the lives of stars and age of the universe and blue stragglers.
