Soft Matter: Young Investigators Meet 2019

12 - 14 May 2019, SHILLONG

The soft matter young investigator meet (SMYIM) aims to bring together soft matter scientists and engineers to present their research ideas and to encourage new and fruitful collaboration . The meeting is an attempt to connect a rapidly growing interdisciplinary group working on colloidal/polymer/granular matter-dynamics, self assembly of mesoscopic structures and the interface of soft matter, chemistry and biology, to enhance the quality of soft matter science through fruitful discussions by bringing scientist together.

SMYIM, started 6 years back, and the previous meetings, in Pondicherry (2014 and 2015), Goa (2016) and Shimla (2018) were a wide success. To continue this process, the 2019 meeting will be held at Shilong, Meghalaya. We invite you to participate in the meeting. By participating, you will :

  • Get an opportunity to meet other early career soft matter researchers in the country
  • Build collaborations
  • Spend 2.5 days in an informal setting in an atmosphere conducive for extended discussions

Scientific Sessions:

  • Bulk soft matter assemblies (colloids, gels, proteins, surfactants and liquid crystals)
  • Nano-particle and Nano-materials
  • Polymers, networks and composites
  • Surfaces, interfaces, and interactions
  • Biological aspects of soft matter
  • Active matter
