The IISER Bhopal Math Symposium of the Department of Mathematics was conceived as a platform for postdoctoral researchers and Ph.D. students to present their research and to engender fruitful discussion amongst them and faculty members with disparate research interests.

The first symposium was held in February 2018 and has been held every year since then. While the first two editions were in-house events, starting in 2020, the theme of the symposium has been broadened by including more invited talks by researchers from Institutes across the country. We believe this would motivate and guide our students in their research endeavors and also provide an atmosphere for collaborative research across disciplines. Keeping the theme intact, the fifth installment of the IISER Bhopal Math Symposium this year will have two plenary talks followed by 14-15 talks each in Algebra, Analysis, and Geometry-Topology.
