The Library of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta was set up in March 1962 and named B. C. Roy Memorial Library in the memory of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, the first chairman of the Institute. It is fully airconditioned, Wi-Fi and RFID enabled total area is more than 30000 sq. ft. The total collection is more than 2 lakhs.
This Library is considered to be one of the best library in Asia in the area of Management Science and allied subjects. It acts as the learning resource centre and occupies a unique place in the academic and research activities of the Institute.
It is a fully automated modern Library and Information Centre which provides current, accurate and authoritative information from print and electronic resources using state-of-the-art technology.

The Joka Campus of the Institute is situated on Diamond Harbour Road, about 20 kms. from the Howrah Station, 18 kms. from the Sealdah Station, and 35 kms. from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The campus is about 2 kms. south of the Joka Tram Terminus and about 3 km. south of the Thakurpukur Bus Terminus. To reach IIM Calcutta Joka Campus, you may avail the services mentioned below: Prepaid taxis are available from Howrah/Sealdah Railway Station and the Airport to IIM Calcutta Joka Campus.

The Financial Research and Trading Lab (FRTL) at IIM Calcutta was set up, at a modest scale, in November 2008 to undertake cutting edge research on financial markets using real time high frequency data from financial markets of India and around the world.
In 2011, the grant from the Government of India helped the Lab grow into a world-class centre of excellence. The Lab has significantly augmented its physical infrastructure and procured international databases and software.
Registration Fee: Rs.5000.00 (Payment details are available on the registration form)
No. of Participants: Maximum 50 (First come, first served).
Accommodation: The registration fee does not include the accommodation charges. Outstation candidates are requested to arrange their own accommodation. Details are provided for booking by themselves.
Applicants must have basic computing skills (preferably in a Linux environment) with a library science background (preferably with an MLISc degree)
Researchers from other disciplines may also register.
Each participant will be provided an individual desktop system for practice at the workshop.
Registration fees include kits, tea & snacks (Morning & Afternoon), and working Lunch.
