The Climate Change and Environment Core Competency Cell (C2EC3) organised an inter-batch climate debate with the objective of fostering critical thinking, informed dialogue, and interdisciplinary engagement on one of the most pressing global challenges of our time - climate change. The debate was designed not merely as a competitive event, but as a platform for intellectual exchange, policy reflection, and ethical introspection.
At a time when climate change is no longer a distant environmental concern but an economic, political, and social crisis, the event aimed to move beyond simplistic narratives of “for” and “against.” Instead, it sought to interrogate the complexities surrounding climate governance, equity, technological transitions, market mechanisms, and behavioural responsibility.
The debate brought together students from diverse academic backgrounds, including sustainability management, economics, policy, and management sciences, ensuring that the discussion reflected multiple perspectives and real-world tensions.
