There are two teams (designated by letters and numbers)
The first team (numbers) starts the drill by going down the floor 2 on 1 vs their opponent (letters)
The remaining players on each team line up on baselines opposite of each other
After the first team (numbers) goes 2 on 1 and the possession ends, they rotate back on defense
Two of the players from their opponent (letters) join the game and they attack 3 on 2 on the opposite end of the floor
Once the possession is over, offense rotates back
The first team (numbers) now adds two players and they break down the floor 4 on 3
Each trip down the floor teams add two players, giving them an advantage on the fast break, until the game ends up 5 on 5
This drill works on both transition offense and transition defense strategiesÂ
