There are three lines of players - a screening line, a cutting line, and a defense line
#1 passes the ball to the coach and screens away for #2
#1 sets a screen for #2
The coach determines which way the defensive player, x2, plays the screen
Offensive players work on their screen and cut technique
Either the cutter or the screener, who makes a second cut, receives a pass for a shot
Types of screens and reads:
Down Screen - Tight Cut (D goes over the top)
Down Screen - Fade Cut (D goes under the screen)
Down Screen - Slip (D goes for a switch)
Down Screen - Back Cut (D denies the cutter over the screen)
Etc.
Complete this drill on both sides of the floor
Focus on screen technique and correct screen reads
Work on different screens from different locations. Teach the proper read of each screen situation.
