In the basic Horns alignment, #2 and #3 set up in the dead corners and #4 and #5 set up in the high post
Horns is an alignment with player-led reads rather than a set play with a pattern
Players read what the defense is giving them and how they're being played
Depending on the read, certain trigger actions are initiated (see below)
If #1 dribbles to enter the ball up the left side of the floor, it initiates the "Horns 77" trigger.
#5 and #4 set a double ball screen for #1
#4 dives to the rim after the pick and roll
#5 pops to the top of the key
If this is not open, flow into Motion
#4 sets a split screen for #5
After the screen, the right side of the floor is open with a double gap
#1 drives the double gap
#4 sets a ball screen for #1
#5 sets a flare screen for #4
#1 completes a DHO with #3
#4 and #5 set a double staggered screen for #2
#2 curls the first screen
#5 screens #4
#1 passes to #5
#4 sets a back screen for #1
#1 posts
#1 passes to #4
#5 sets a down screen for #2
#4 completes a DHO with #2
#1 screens #5
#4 screens #1
