Digital Playbook: Hammer

Directions:

• #4 sets a flare screen for #3

• #1 passes to #3

• #3 rips the ball and drives baselines

• #5 sets a hammer screen for #2

• #4 dives to the rim

Scoring Options:

1. #3 can score by finishing at the rim

2. #3 can hit #4 on the dive to the rim

3. #3 can pass to either #2 or #5 upon completion of the hammer action

4. #1 can score on the crackback of #3's drive

Other Teaching Points:

• Ideally, #3 should rip the ball and drive immediately upon receiving the pass from #1

• We can also initiate the play using a "Boston screen" between #4 and #3

• If the defender takes away the baseline on #3's drive, #4 can set a ball screen going towards the middle of the floor
