To Start up Star Wars Day celebrations this year we had some preliminar instructions at a secret meeting. All the rebels at IES Valle de Aller were discreetly given a message on the previous days. It was at this meeting when they were provided with a book of missions where they had further explanations about the plans for the following stages. This wouldn't have been possible without the only card in the galaxy containing the real blueprints of the Battlestation "Death Star" . It ended in our hands thanks to Miguel and Eduardo but many have fallen to make that possible.

MISSION 01

For this mission students had to be in the shoes of the rebel pilots and explore the galaxy ( Our High School Corridors and Departments ) in search of hidden Imperial Spaceships and Droids. First step, getting their credentials at the Cantina, familiar place where they could go anytime they found themselves lost or in need of a hint. Some of the Spaceships were hidden deep in the corridors but there were many allies in almost every department of our High School. Fortunately many teachers were ready to help with a code in exchange for a challenge. Our deepest gratitude to all of them: Marisa, Feri, Roberto, Juan (Philosophy), Rosa (Philosophy), Raquel, Isabel, Nacho (Maths), Jesús, Duli, Ana Belén, Carmen, Nacho (P.E.), Óscar, Rosa (Spanish), Pilar (Music), Montse (French) y Loreto).

MISSION 02

Stage two was the toughest one. The attack to the DeathStar awaited our best pilots who formed the Red Squad. Based on the rankings of the previous stage our students were placed into three different groups: X-Wing pilots, Gunners and Jedi Knights.

The mission consisted on a  solo flight along the main trench of the DeathStar flanked by deffensive cannons which fired relentlessly over our brave pilots. Jedi knights tried their best at defending them from the attacks of the imperial forces. And there was one more obstacle in this final assault , if any of the pilots lost their R2 unit they would face the Deathstar with their eyes covered having only the power of the Force to take them to victory. ( That was the case of Pablo, teacher of Arts )

Even though all our squad showed great skill and courage finally only Enol (2º ESO) was able to get his proton torpedo down to the DeathStar reactor core, becoming the hero who saved the day and getting a standing ovation for his tremendous feat.

MISSION 03

And after Enol's impossible shot and the total destruction of the DeathStar there was only one last mission to accomplish: Celebration and award ceremony for our brave heroes and heroines. For this purpose we had the invaluable help of the teachers of our vocational training school of cooking, gastronomy and restaurant services. Special thanks to Natalia, who prepared and crafted our Star Wars customized cakes ( including a Millenium Falcon Replica cake) which were delicious.

And last, we must finally express our gratitude to everyone who helped this celebration to become a reality: IES Valle de Aller Teachers ( specially Eduardo, Roberto, Natalia, Isabel y Pablo  who had a crucial role in organizing this event ) and of course our enthusiastic students who were terribly involved all through the project. Thank you everyone and May the force be with You !!! ;)
