Short description
Culture is a broad concept, but our project has foscused on heritage, superstitions, customs, traditions, idioms, proverbs, gastronomy, or any other area that has interested the students. Europe has a wide and varied range of materials incorporated by tradition, but also enriched with elements "imported" from other continents. The aim of the project has been to familiarize students with the richness of European cultures and improve mutual understanding between students of different ethnic backgrounds, while developing their communication and ICT skills in foreign languages. as a means of communication and expression. Collaboration and cultural encounter is a way to broaden students' horizons, and the interdisciplinary nature of the project helps develop basic skills.

Aims
In this project, students have gained a strong intercultural understanding, which involves knowledge and awareness of other cultures. Its goal has been to develop a deeper understanding of the differences and cultural richness of peoples. The objectives that we have assessed are:
Cultural Awareness and Expression: Project participants have had the opportunity to become familiar with a diversity of cultures and develop positive values and attitudes, including treating others with respect.
Communication in Foreign Languages: Students have used English to communicate and practice their language skills.
Digital competence: they have used a series of interesting ICT tools and therefore develop ICT skills.
Social and Civic Skills and Cultural Awareness and Expression: Students have learnt from activities, events, and festivals that celebrate diverse cultural aspects.
Work process
At the beginning of the project, all the participants have presented their schools, cities, countries. A contest has been launched for the creation of the logo for the project. The best works are displayed on the TwinSpace and one has been chosen by a vote of the students. The students have formed teams of international reporters and work on the themes in order to create their tourist guides.
Result
The final product idea has been several tourist guides prepared in international groups with tourist itineraries and information about could be visited, done, eaten,... in each visited place.
IES Marqués de Santillana - SPAIN
IES Marqués de Santillana is a bilingual school in the city centre of Torrelavega, Cantabria. It was officially unveiled in 1932.
We teach students in their Compulsory Secondary Education years, as well as in their Upper Secondary Education. Moreover, the school is popular for the implementation of an Upper Secondary Education programme for adults in the afternoon.
This project will be developed by students in their 13-14s. It is the second year that these classes develop eTwinning projects. Last year we also got the school eTwinning label.

Agrupamento de Escolas de Pombal - PORTUGAL
The AEP, created in April 2013, results from the aggregation of the Pombal School Group, formerly the Marquês de Pombal Group, with the Pombal Secondary School. It is located on the Portuguese Atlantic coast. Its creation dates back to 1957.
The school facilities occupy an area of 22,966 m2, an implantation area of 7913.7 m2, a gross construction area of 13267.7 m2.
We teach students from the age of 10 years old to 18. This project will be developed by students that are on the 8th and 10th grades. It is the second year that these classes develop eTwinning projects. Last year we got the school eTwinning label.
