These areas have mostly not seen the levels of drug-related violence and crime experienced elsewhere in Mexico. However, since 2017 there have been a number of reported shooting incidents and other incidents of violence in these areas, including in locations popular with tourists. Mexico is a huge country and the weather varies by season and region. The optimum time to visit is generally between December and April, when there is virtually no rain. The coolest months are between December and February, while the wet season begins in the south in May and lasts until October.

This tip is refering to transportation. If you want to make a route through Mexico, more or less like ours, it is best to consider entering through Mexico city and leaving through Cancun, allowing us to be able to make a route in straight line, without having to return to the starting point, earning a lot of time.

Do I need travel insurance for Mexico?

Yes, altough it is not mandatory, it is advisable to have travel insurance if you are visiting Mexico.

You do not have the right to receive free medical care in Mexico, so if you are sick or injured and need a doctor, you must pay for it out of your own pocket. However, if you have insurance, your medical costs will generally be covered, and you may also be transferred home to continue treatment in your country.

Many people travel to Mexico every year and, altough most visits are smooth, tourists have been victims of crime in the past.

There are options for all pockets and the most economical ones are not bad if you are careful in your search. That if you are going to have to do without a private room and get used to eating things like sandwichs.
