TASKS FOR THE PROJECT

For this first project, we will go together through the following tasks:

TASK 1: BRAINSTORMING AND GLOBAL MIND MAP

To start the project, we will think and share (1-2-4) and then we will do a brainstorming to create a mind map. In our map we will organize everything we already know about the human body, which is a lot.

At first, we will be thinking about the following questions and making lists of concepts:

Why do we eat (and drink)?
1. What do we obtain from food?
2. What happens to our body if we do not eat?
3. What do we obtain from drinking water?
4. What happens to our body if we do not drink?
Why do we breathe?
1. What do we breathe? What is in the air around us?
2. What do we obtain from the air that we breathe?
3. What happens if we do not breathe?
What do we eat? What should we eat to be healthy?
1. Healthy habits about food, water and breathing air.
What happens in our body with the nutrients that we take when we eat and breathe?
1. Where does food go? How?
2. Where does drinking water go? And food water?
3. Do we use everything we eat, drink and breathe? If not, what do we do with the waste?

Secondly, we will create the initial mind map for the project.

Then, we will divide the class into teams and distribute roles.

TAsk 2: what do you mean?

In this task you should carefully read the project supporting notes in search of new words that you do not know in English. As you will see, in those notes there are many words in red (basic vocabulary about health, human body and nutrition).

These and other interesting words appear in the following vocabulary document , grouped by subject.

Your task will be to complete the meaning of all those words and add any other new english word that you learn in this project.

TAsk 3: deciding the outline for our team presentation

In this task, you will work with your team.

In each team, you will start by discussing a possible outline for your team presentation about nutrition and food, making sure that you cover all the important topics. To do this, you should check our mind map (after task 1) and the supporting notes for the project

The outline must be planned using the a presentation template, which will be the one you will use for your team presentation. You must download it and share it with me and with your teammates.

Then you will decide the title of each slide and briefly describe its content (it is not about making it complete). The first slide of the presentation template has been planned for you as an example.

Keep in mind that the final presentation should have between 4 and 6 slides per person.

TASK 4: becoming experts in a part of the subject

In this task, the teacher will divide the subject into four parts and will assign each part to a team member. That team member will the work on the assigned part of the team presentation to become a real expert.

Each slide must contain at least one image that helps to understand what you are explaining. At least one of each person's slides must be prepared in English.

The surname of the author must appear, clearly visible, on the upper right corner of his/her slides.

TASK 5: PUTTING OUR WORK IN COMMON WITH OUR TEAMMATES

Using your finished team presentation, you will explain to the rest of you team your part of the presentation. Your teammates mush take notes and ask you questions if necessary.

Finally, you will rehearse together the whole presentation to be presented to your classmates in the coming task.

TASK 6: PRESENTING OUR WORK TO OUR CLASSMATES

In this task, each team will present their presentation to the rest of the class, with the following indications:

You will not present it in full, but only a part.
All team members will have the same qualification in the team oral presentation.
Most probably you will not have to present the slides that you made yourself, but some of the ones prepared by a teammate (the teacher will tell you that day). So, it is very important that you work correctly in Tasks 3, 4 and 5
