About IIW INDIA:

The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India) was incorporated on the 22nd April, 1966 at Calcutta to foster the development of welding science, technology and engineering in India and since then has been serving the cause of the welding industry through its 13 branches/chapters throughout India. The institute is a non-profit making organization and a professional society providing various platforms for students to perform, win & boost their knowledge.

IIW India IEM Student Branch Chartering:

On the eve of foundation of IIW India, inauguration of IIW-IEM Students’ Chapter took place with 27 student members & 8 of them were given responsibility of CWC to lead the society. A total of 10 delegates from IIW India were present to address us on the occasion and our director Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti was honoured with certificate of opening a new students’ chapter at IEM, Kolkata.

Events Organized:

Technical talk, Quiz, Weld seminar, Factory visit and Hand on exposure in welding Fabrication generally organized.

IIW India IEM Student Branch already has 22 members along with three Faculty coordinator .
