FRIDAY 5 SEPTEMBER | MADIBENG BUILDING, AUCKLAND PARK - KINGSWAY CAMPUS (APK) - UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
Now in its seventh edition, the Rethinking Economics for Africa (REFA) Festival will once again host a diverse range of speakers, students, prominent academics, activists, and civil society organisations from across the African continent and the globe!
The Festival is specifically geared to be friendly to non-economists and people of all backgrounds. It is a "Festival" and not a just a conference. Expect lectures and panel discussions, but also interactive exhibitions, film screenings, stalls with different organisations, performances, artwork displays, and more!
The REFA Festival is a chance for non-economists and economists alike to exchange ideas and tools on how to rethink economics in our universities and society more broadly. While the topics are very diverse, this year the organisers have a cross-cutting theme on feminist economics.
