Dear Parents & Guardians,

Welcome to Ditmas I.S. 62, we are happy you have chosen our school as the pathway to success for your child!

First Day & Schedule

Ditmas teachers are ready to welcome new students to prepare them for the school year! Please mark your calendar for the first day of school: Thursday, September 5th. The school-day begins at 8:00 am, and ends at 2:20 pm. Students & teachers adhere to an 8-Period Schedule throughout the school-day; each student will receive their Class Schedule, on the first day of school.

Students enter & exit from the school building, as follows:

● 6th grade (1st Floor) Exit 1 (East 7th Street entrance)

● 7th grade (2nd Floor) Exit 8 & 9 (Playground, behind the school)

● 8th grade (3rd Floor) Exit 5 & 6 (East 8th Street entrance)

Please review the Basic Supply List to help you prepare for middle school. Additional supplies may be necessary as students meet their teachers.

We look forward to meeting all of our incoming students, parents & guardians for the 2019-2020 School Year. Please save-the-date for the first Parent-Teacher Conference Day scheduled for Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 4:30 pm through 7:30 pm.

School Food: Breakfast & Lunch are FREE

All NYC public school students are welcome to enjoy free breakfast and lunch at school. Parents/guardians do not need to apply for their kids to receive those meals. However, we are asking parents to complete a FAMILY INCOME FORM to continue access to funding for programs like FREE Breakfast, FREE Lunch, and others. Please complete the online form, it is available in your language. If you do not have access to a device, we will send a copy of the form home when your child starts school. You can also pick one up at our school or the closest Family Welcome Center across the city.
