Ready for Senior Activities

March 9, 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to senior year! The culminating year here at Ditmas I.S. 62 is full of exciting activities and opportunities for your graduate. Although the majority of these activities take place at the end of the year, we wanted to reach out to parents and let them know what will be taking place as the year progresses.

Below please find a letter inlcuding a list of the activities and events we have planned, their costs, dates, and locations. Please note that all activities are optional. Your child may participate in as many or as few events as you choose. Also, please be advised that all events are considered to be a privilege. Your child may be excluded from any and all events due to poor behavior, grades or excessive absences. In addition, 8th grade activities are open to graduates only, meaning, if your child is in danger of failing, or they have not paid Senior Dues, they may not be eligible to participate in senior activities. If your child is excluded from any activities due to the reasons mentioned above, you will be notified in a timely manner.

Please be advised that at this time, Senior Dues are past due. No payments for senior activities are due at this time. More information regarding each event will be sent home as the year progresses. As always, if you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact your Dean of Students.

Your Principal, Mr. Kevorkian

  • Dean of Students, LCS: Ms. Polito extension 3111
  • Dean of Students, APVA: Dr. Reid extension 2052

High School Results Letter

Accept Your Round 1 Offer or Apply for Round 2 by March 26

Students received their High School Round 1 Results Letter from their Guidance Counselors on Friday, March 9th.

This results letter lets you know if your child received an offer to a program you listed on the High School Application and an offer to a Specialized High School. If you get offers from the High School Application and from a Specialized High School, you must pick one.

If you got a Round 1 offer, choose one of two options on your Round 1 offer letter by Monday, March 26:

  • Choose your Round 1 offer, sign the letter, and return it to your school counselor, or
  • Choose to apply for Round 2, sign the letter, and give it to your school counselor along with your completed Round 2 Application

If you did not get a Round 1 offer or have not yet applied to high school, you must submit a Round 2 Application. All eighth grade and first-time ninth grade students can submit a Round 2 Application.

  • Search for Round 2 schools in School Finder.
  • Come to the Round 2 High School Fair on March 17 and 18 to meet with Round 2 schools and get one-on-one help with your application.
  • Speak with your Guidance Counselor if you have any questions:

· Ms. Myers x 2041 (APVA)

· Ms. Muscarella x 3452 (LCS)
