Designing People First Places

Wellbeing now, more than ever, plays a huge part in the considerations of workplace design. Using our own Personal Knowledge and Wellbeing Fund (PKWF), Senior Designer Sam has committed to gaining a qualification to become an Accredited Professional (WELL AP) from International WELL Building Institute.

Sam will share this knowledge and experience of WELL to help our clients prioritise the health and safety of their people, maximise property value and optimise the human and social capital performance of their business.

About the Accreditation

Research shows companies that invest in health strategies can benefit from enhanced performance and increased financial returns. In a nutshell, The WELL AP Accreditation brings together 10 aspects of a great environment which we have always intrinsically known are fundamental: water, light, air, nourishment, movement, materials, thermal control, acoustics, community, and mind.

By challenging ourselves to uphold these 10 core aspects, our designs can help support people to do their best work by being mindful of physical and mental health considerations. Sam will be joining people from 120 countries around the world who are leading a global movement to transform buildings, organisations and communities in ways that help people thrive.

Sharing knowledge internally has always been a massive part of what has made us successful - that's why Sam will be using this opportunity to share thoughts and ideas with everyone here at iDEA through our regular 'Talking Sessions'.

Together, we'll be driving forward every opportunity to continue to improve the spaces around us - to make everyone, everywhere, healthier, happier and more productive.
