The story starts in another pawnshop. Sean wanted to get a pawn loan on his gold coins. The pawnshop's cheapest loan could offer was 20% per month on gold. That is an insanely high-interest rate on gold; it's not like it's a worn-out tool or an outdated iPod. He thought there was a better way. So Sean decided he could do it better and offer 12% per year (1% per month, cheaper than most credit cards). Alt Lender was then created.

Alt Lender is Sean Haire's vision of how a local micro-lending platform should be. No wasted space or pawn loans on things that aren't valuable. This allowed Alt Lender to provide such low rates as we pass our savings to you.

He knew the pawn & personal loan space was crowded and expensive. He wants to simplify things using timeless methods but working smart using automation and simplicity to bring borrowers choice and competitive rates.
