Mrs. Monroe

I am truly excited and honored to be your 3rd and 4th grade teacher this year! This will be my second year teaching in Idaho and I am so thrilled to be a part of this Idaho Arts family. I grew up in Dallas, Texas and was heavily involved in dance throughout my educational experience. After high school I attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Following college, I moved to Greenwood, Mississippi where I taught 3rd and 4th grade for 2 years and earned my certification through Teach For America.

The arts played an incredibly positive role in my educational experience. Now that I am an educator myself, I realize how fortunate I was to have had dance education woven into my daily life at school. My teachers encouraged me to use my love for dance to enhance my investment in core academic subjects. As a teacher at Idaho Arts, I am honored to be able to encourage my students to express themselves through their art passions while learning about the world around them as a part of a classroom family!

In my free time I love to read and spend time with my husband and my dog, Emmy. We also love trying new food, traveling to new places, and cheering for our favorite college football team- Texas A&M! I cannot wait to get to know you and your families more over the next year.
