A Word from

our Head of School

Earl Chamberlin

Welcome ISSEA to ICS Addis Ababa!

We are blessed to host such an exciting international event here in Ethiopia, as we welcome student-athletes and coaches from 8 different schools representing over 50 nationalities!

I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who have made this championship tournament possibleICS and all other ISSEA school communities have once again demonstrated our commitment to supporting our children and extracurriculars, and this is what makes this group so special.

During the 3 days of competition, I encourage everyone to embrace the sense of community, fair play and friendship, and recognize the honor and privilege we have in celebrating our student-athletes and coaches.  We meet in the spirit of competition, but we know that everyone will leave here having built new friendships.

Sincerely,

Earl Chamberlin

Dear ISSEA Athletes, Coaches, Supporters,

It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you all to the 2024 ISSEA Track and Field/Cross Country Meet, hosted right here at ICS Addis Ababa. It’s an honor to have our campus filled with such talent, energy, and enthusiasm from across East Africa.

Over the next few days, we’ll witness exceptional performances, as athletes from eight international schools come together to compete, push their limits, and demonstrate the spirit of sportsmanship that defines ISSEA. Each of you represents not just your school, but the commitment, hard work, and dedication that it takes to succeed in athletics. We’re all excited to see how those efforts will unfold on the track and field.

At ICS, we are incredibly proud to host this event. Our community thrives on the values of inclusivity, respect, and collaboration, and I know we’ll see these values reflected in every race, every jump, and every throw over the next few days.

As we kick off this meet, let’s remember that while we’re here to compete, we’re also here to connect, to learn from each other, and to celebrate the passion we all share for athletics.

I want to extend a warm thank you to the coaches, event organizers, volunteers, and supporters who have made this event possible. Your dedication behind the scenes ensures that our athletes can shine, and we are grateful for your hard work.

To all the athletes, I wish you the best of luck. Give it your all, cheer each other on, and enjoy every moment.

Let the games begin!
