The Workshop
The Latin American research community has been working on proposals for the evolution of audio, video and television services, including interactive media experiences (IMX), mulsemedia, usability, user experience evaluation of IMX, under different service modalities, such as Terrestrial Digital TV, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), Integrated Broadcast-Broadband systems (IBB), World Wide Web (WWW), Over-the-top services (OTT) and beyond.
Prominent researchers, authors and invited speakers from Latina America will gather during the next ACM IMX 2020 in this special workshop called IMX in Latin America (IMX-LATAM 2020). It will be indeed an excellent opportunity for a joint discussion and for establishing closer relationships that can positively impact the comprehensiveness and diversity of the ACM IMX community.

Call for papers

Invited Speakers
IMX-LATAM 2020 brings prominent Latin American researchers from Academia and Industry to present and discuss their contributions to the state of the art of interactive media experiences.
Dr. Álan L. V. Guedes
Álan Guedes is a Post-PhD Researcher at PUC-Rio TeleMídia Lab, where he received his Ph.D. He received his Bachelor's (2009) and M.Sc. (2012) degrees from the UFPB, Brazil, where he worked as a researcher in Lavid Lab. In both labs, he worked in research projects and contributed to the Ginga-NCL standard (Brazilian TV Forum and ITU), participated in TCP (WebMedia, IHC, CBIE, IMX), and published several papers/chapters. His research interests include Multimedia Systems, Immersive Media, and Multimedia Content Analyses.
Dr. Raisa Socorro-Llanes
Raisa Socorro Llanes received a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Technological University of Havana “José Antonio Echeverría”, Cuba, in 1995 and a Ph.D. in Applied Computer Science from the University of Alicante, Spain, in 2012. She is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Computer Engineering at the Technological University of Havana “José Antonio Echeverría” (Cuba) and member of Cuban Society of mathematics and computing. Her research interests include data mining, pattern recognition and graphical authentication, and their application.
Dr. Cristian Rusu
Cristian Rusu has a PhD in Applied Informatics from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania). He is a full professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), in Chile. He has worked in several software companies and research institutes in Romania and Chile. Since 1999, he has been fully dedicated to academia. He serves on editorial boards and conference program committees and disseminates HCI importance in Chile and Latin America. His research interests focus on HCI, Usability, User eXperience, Customer eXperience, and Service Science. He is the former chair of the Chilean ACMSIGCHI Chapter and is the head of the “UseCV” Research Group in HCI at PUCV. He is also the vice-chair of the ACM SIGCHI Valparaiso chapter.
Dr. Débora Muchaluat-Saade
Debora Christina Muchaluat Saade received her PhD in Computer Science from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Brazil, in 2003. She has been a Professor at the Institute of Computing of Fluminense Federal University (UFF) since 2002. She is the head of MídiaCom Lab at UFF (www.midiacom.uff.br). Her research interests are multimedia and mulsemedia systems, computer networks, smart grids, IoT and computing applied to healthcare. She has participated in the development of NCL (Nested Context Language) and Ginga-NCL, used in the Brazilian Digital TV System (ABNT NBR 15606-2) and IPTV services (ITU-T H.761).
Dr. Gonzalo Olmedo
Gonzalo Fernando Olmedo received his B.Eng. degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from Escuela Politécnica del Ejército, (ESPE), Ecuador, in 1998 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Campinas, UNICAMP, Brazil in 2003 and 2008, respectively. Since 2005 he is an Associate Professor in the Departamento de Ingeniería Eléctrica of the Escuela Politécnica del Ejército. Since 2011 he serves as Head of Department. His current research interests include Digital Communications, Wireless Com- munications, OFDM, CDMA, Channel Codes, TCP and Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting.

Organizers
César A. Collazos. Phd in Computer Science (Universidad de Chile, 2004). Full Professor Computer Science Department at Universidad del Cauca-colombia. Head of IDIS Research group and HCI-Collab (Collaborative Network supporting HCI education in Iberoamerican countries). hi main research areas include Human Computer Interaction, Computer Supported Collaborative Work, Software Engineering. In these areas he has published numerous papers in conferences and journals and participates as part of the scientific and organizer committees of several national and international conferences.
Marcelo F. Moreno is an Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department of Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), where he is also a permanent member of the Computer Science Postgraduate Program. He holds Master and Doctorate degrees in Informatics from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). He is the Rapporteur of ITU-T Question 13/16 (Multimedia application platforms and end systems for IPTV), co-chair of ITU Intersector Group on Integrated Broadcast-Broadband (IRG-IBB) and vice-chair of ITU-T Study Group 16 (Multimedia). He is an editor of many ITU-T Recommendations and technical papers. He has a solid history of publications and presentations in both academia and industry events, where he reports and enhances the achievements of his research and development initiatives.
Rodrigo Laiola Guimarães is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics (DI) at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), Vitória/ES, Brazil. He is a Computer Engineer from UFES (2004), M.Sc. in Informatics from PUC-Rio (2007) and Ph.D. in CS from the VU University Amsterdam (2014). Before joining UFES he worked at IBM Research, Samsung Research America, CWI and Xerox. He was a SIGCHI Communication Ambassador between 2017-2018 and general chair of the XVIII Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems (IHC 2019). Currently, he leads the Tutorial Education Program (PET) for computer engineering undergrad students at UFES and is involved in several academic activities, such as reviewer/member of technical program committee of a number of conferences and journals related to multimedia, the Web, and HCI. His research interests include: multimedia systems, document engineering and user-centered design.
Sandra Baldassarri received a B.Sc. in Computer Science from University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1992 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, in 2004. She is Associated Professor in Computer Science Department at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and founder member of the AffectiveLab of the Advanced Computer Graphics Group (GIGA) at the University of Zaragoza. Her research interests include affective computing, multimodal interfaces, natural interaction, and their application in TVx and in educational fields. In these areas she published a numerous papers in conferences and journals and participates as part of the scientific and organizer committees of several Human Computer Interaction national and international conferences.
