We asked a few teachers how Hurricane Sally affected them. This was Mrs. Milstead’s response. “There was not a lot of damage, and no trees fell on our property. Our power was out for a few days so we had to play board games to keep ourselves occupied. It was definitely a challenge trying to keep our six year old entertained during the day. It was her sixth birthday the day after the storm, so it was difficult to figure out a way to celebrate it.” Wow! It must be difficult trying to celebrate a six-year-old’s birthday in a power outage!
The next response is from Mr. Harbin. “There were only a few trees down and a lot of debris in our yard. The power was out for two days so it was pretty scary because we live in such an old house. After the storm was over, we went to my parent’s house to help clean up their yard.” Living in an 80-year-old house is probably scary anyway, but it’s probably terrifying during a hurricane! The last response is from Mrs. Snow. “There wasn’t any damage done to our house, but there were around fifty trees down around the house. We helped Mrs. Fisher’s family and brought them gallons of gas because they didn’t have power for a few days.” It’s so amazing what people do for others, even during a scary storm.
Thank you for all of your responses!
