A site-specific biosecurity plan explains how a site meets biosecurity measures. Each site is unique in their site layout, traffic flow, and personnel so it is important for each site to have procedures written and communicated to anyone coming on and off the site.
There are many resources available through Secure Pork Supply to help you with your plan. All of these resources can be found at Secure Pork Supply's website
· Biosecurity Checklist: If you already have a biosecurity plan, use this checklist to find any gaps in your plan.
· Customizable Biosecurity Plan Templates: If you don’t already have a plan, you can find templates to assist you in writing your biosecurity plan. You can use the “TYPE IN” version to make an electronic plan. If you choose to use “WRITE IN” template, the “TYPE IN” template can be used as an instruction guide so you know what to put in the blanks.
· Biosecurity Manual: This manual describes all the enhanced biosecurity concepts that are listed in the plan.
· Instructions for Creating A Premises Map: Part of the enhanced biosecurity plan includes a premises map that is labeled with components from the biosecurity plan, including the line of separation (LOS) and perimeter buffer area (PBA).
