Simon Morgan

CREDITNATURE

Dr. Simon Morgan, with over two decades in African biodiversity monitoring, is International Projects & Science Lead at CreditNature, merging his research background and conservation experience with innovative finance to create market-ready nature credits. Simon started building a nature crediting framework in 2021 through his own start-up ValueNature, which was subsequently acquired by CreditNature in 2025. His notable collaborations include a UK-funded Darwin Grant with the IIED to pilot a nature crediting project with Conserve Global in Zambia. As a key figure in conceptualizing the Biodiversity Credit Alliance, now a 500-member initiative backed by UNDP and UNEP-FI, Simon actively contributes to its Taskforce. As a community member living within and acting as a custodian of a protected area, Simon knows first-hand the value a well-developed and high-integrity nature market could bring to the restoration and conservation of critical ecosystems.
