Mae gan Ysgol y Dderwen gyfrifoldeb bugeiliol dros bob un o’i disgyblion. Mae’r ysgol yn chwarae rhan allweddol wrth atal camdriniaeth ac esgeulustod drwy sicrhau bod yr amgylchedd yn ddiogel ac yn gefnogol i blant a phobl ifanc.
Mae pob aelod o staff yn rhannu’r cyfrifoldeb am ddiogelu ac amddiffyn y plant sy’n mynychu’r ysgol. Os bydd unrhyw bryderon ynghylch esgeulustod neu gam-drin corfforol, emosiynol neu rywiol, mae’n ofynnol i staff ddilyn Trefn Diogelu Plant y Sir ac adrodd y mater i Gyd-gysylltydd Diogelu’r ysgol.
Gall y Cyd-gysylltydd drafod y pryder gyda gweithwyr proffesiynol eraill a chyrff perthnasol megis y Gwasanaethau Iechyd a Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol. Ar ôl trafodaethau o’r fath, efallai y bydd angen cyflwyno atgyfeiriad ffurfiol i’r Adran Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol, yn unol â phrotocolau a chanllawiau’r Sir. Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol sy’n penderfynu pa gamau, os o gwbl, sydd eu hangen.
Oherwydd natur sensitif rhai cyhuddiadau, nid yw bob amser yn briodol trafod y pryderon gyda rhieni cyn gwneud atgyfeiriad. Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol a’r Heddlu sy’n gyfrifol am wneud unrhyw ymchwiliadau.
Mae’r ysgol yn gweithredu yn unol â Phrotocol Sir Gaerfyrddin, ac os bydd cyhuddiad yn cael ei wneud yn erbyn aelod o staff, bydd yr ysgol yn dilyn gweithdrefnau’r Sir yn llawn.
Ysgol y Dderwen has a pastoral responsibility for all its pupils. The school plays a key role in preventing abuse and neglect by ensuring that the environment is safe and supportive for children and young people.
All members of staff share responsibility for safeguarding and protecting the children who attend the school. If any concerns arise regarding neglect or physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, staff are required to follow the County’s Child Protection Procedures and report the issue to the school’s Child Protection Coordinator.
The Coordinator may discuss the concern with other professionals and relevant agencies, such as Health Services and Social Services. Following such discussions, it may be necessary to make a formal referral to the Social Services Department, in line with the County’s protocols and guidance. Social Services will then decide what action, if any, is required.
Because of the sensitive nature of some allegations, it is not always appropriate to speak with parents before making a referral. Social Services and the Police are responsible for carrying out any investigations.
The school follows Carmarthenshire County Protocol, and if an allegation is made against a member of staff, the school will follow the County’s official procedures.

Rydym yn rhan o Operation Encompass.
Mae Operation Encompass yn sicrhau bod Arweinydd / Swyddog Diogelu Dynodedig hyfforddedig yr ysgol (a elwir yn Oedolyn Allweddol) yn derbyn galwad ffôn syml neu e-bost cyn dechrau'r diwrnod ysgol nesaf, yn dilyn digwyddiad lle mynychodd yr heddlu achos o gam-drin domestig lle mae plant yn gysylltiedig â'r naill neu'r llall o'r oedolion dan sylw.
Mae Operation Encompass yn bartneriaeth diogelu gwybodaeth gynnar rhwng yr heddlu a'r ysgol sy'n ein galluogi ni i gynnig cefnogaeth ar unwaith i blant sy'n profi cam-drin domestig.
We are part of Operation Encompass.
Operation Encompass ensures that the school’s trained Designated Safeguarding Lead / Officer (known as the Key Adult) receives a simple phone call or email before the start of the next school day, following an incident where the police have attended a case of domestic abuse in which children are involved with one or both of the adults concerned.
Operation Encompass is an early information-sharing safeguarding partnership between the police and the school, which enables us to offer immediate support to children who are experiencing domestic abuse.
