This theme looks at how technology is used in the local area before moving onto making wearable technology using microbits.
Students start by investigating how technology used around the area is changing / has changed.
They look at the case study of Huit Jeans which is a world famous brand made in Cardigan. Students look at how the company uses its website and social media to conquer the world of jeans.
Students are given a scenario where they are asked to design wearable technology.
Students create an advertising campaign for their product. They could either create a class website or post / video on adobe spark.

The company specialises in creating wearable technology.
You need to use micro:bit to create a new wearable product. This product can be worn on any part of the body, clothing or fitted to bags, scarf, hat etc.
Anything goes, use your imagination.

Researching and Developing Ideas
Students research what current wearable technology is out there. Create a mood board of what they like.
They narrow down their product direction using the what, where, how, why, when and who questions.
Good introduction into how students could create a simple wearable product.
Depending on students experience and ability there are many project that can be used to help students develop their wearable product.
Students code their microbit and create products for holding the microbit in place so that it can be used as designed.
Use Adobe Spark to create digital products.
