A Micro:Bit Project
There is a Pupil booklet and the supporting resources for each boardgame that they will play throughout the project.
There is very little influence coming from Wales regarding the design of board games. In a world where we are always being encouraged to be more creative and imaginative, there is space in the market for a Welsh themed boardgame.
Wishing to develop the use of a Micro:Bit, you will develop a game that uses the Micro:Bit as a means of allowing counters to move around the board.
• Using the BBC Micro:Bit, create a prototype for a board game product. The product must use the Micro:Bit as a way of getting the counters to move around the board.
• You will be shown different ways of coding the Micro:Bit and decide on the most appropriate coding for your particular board game.
Throughout the project you will learn to code the Micro:Bit in different ways in order to play different games. Each game will have an aim and a set of rules. You will play the game and then evaluate each game.
Once you have looked at each you game, you will start to consider designing your own game. You will brainstorm ideas, design, create and then evaluate your board game.
