Hogwarts has nothing on this team. They bring the magic to each and every day in the classroom.

Tiffany Michael is grateful to have taught 5th and 6th grade at CBMS since 2014. Currently, she teaches Humanities on the Wizards team. She absolutely loves getting kids excited about reading. Give her a reluctant reader and watch her work her magic. Additionally, her other passion lies in teaching her students to become good humans through understanding the lived experiences of others. She utilizes literature and history to help students become critical thinkers, learn how to engage in civil discourse, and understand the need for social justice. She enjoys developing engaging units of study that get kids excited about learning. Most importantly, she wants all students in her class to feel welcomed, safe, and accepted for their authentic selves. Tiffany’s endeavor as a teacher is to meet every student where they are and support their unique journey of personal growth.

Melinda Anderman has been teaching young adolescents at Crossett Brook since 2013. Melinda began her teaching journey at Mt. Abe while she was enrolled in the UVM Masters in Education program. Her plan was to pursue work teaching high school students but fortunately had the opportunity to work in a school with grades 7-12. She immediately fell in love with teaching middle school students and never looked back. Since that time, Melinda has taught both math and science to students in grades 5-8 but loves the curiosity, enthusiasm, and fun that both 5th and 6th graders bring to school each day. Although Melinda loves teaching math and science, she believes strongly that daily learning encompasses so much more than academics and she is passionate about teaching kids in all aspects of their social and emotional development. Melinda lives locally in Duxbury and has two daughters who attended CBMS and Harwood. She is committed to kids having access to the outdoors no matter what the weather and knows that our young adolescents need to be able to move if they are going to be able to learn. When it comes to math, Melinda recognizes every learner in her classroom as a mathematician and hopes that after working with her, that her students see themselves as mathematicians too.
Hello students and families! I am Aimee Smith and this is my first year at Crossett Brook Middle School. I grew up as a dependent of the military, moving frequently and getting to experience many cultures at a young age. The last location that I relocated to was in Southern Illinois, where I met my husband and had my two children who are students in the Harwood Unified Union school district. In 2014, we took a risk and moved to Vermont. It was the best decision that we have ever made for our family.
I started my career in education in January 2020 at Brookside Primary School as a paraprofessional, right before the COVID pandemic. That summer, I made the decision to go back to school with the goal of obtaining my teaching license. In May 2025, I graduated from Saint Michael's College with my Masters of Arts in Teaching. Throughout my education and work experience, building relationships with students and families became central to my teaching practice. I was fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity to teach science and social studies at Crossett Brook and am excited to bring these subjects to students in a relevant, analytical, and fun way.
