~Aristotle
This is my 12th year as the Choir Director of Hutto MS, and my 19th year in education. I love teaching kids the joy of music, and finding ways to express themselves.
My wife and I have two beautiful daughters (10th & 7th grade). In my free time I enjoy playing guitar, hiking, reading, and woodworking. My newest passion is building electric guitars.
Students in the Choir program learn:
The basics of singing technique, including posture, breathing, and voice placement.
How to identify written notes and rhythms, sight-read different note intervals, and use dynamics and phrasing to make a song sound musical.
Performance techniques such as stage presence, dealing with nerves and stage fright, and how to act when watching a performance as an audience member.
